Heat Tracing is ideal for freeze protection, where tanks, pipes and hoses need to be kept warm. Typically, Heat Tracing Cable is available by the spool. However, AC8 Heat Tracing from HTS/Amptek®, is assembled into convenient lengths for installation without additional "kits" for lead and end termination.

Able to achieve and maintain temperatures of up to 150 degrees F (65 degrees C) and withstand intermittent temperatures of up to 185 degrees F (85 degrees C) with power applied, these bulk heating tape elements will regulate the temperature of your plumbing and protect any tanks or pipes from freezing and cutting off the flow. Overlapping the heat tracing tape will not cause an issue if you need to layer on this protection. AC8 Heat Trace Tape is designed to handle being overlapped without overheating or burning out.

Though heat tracing cable is typically sold by the spool, this can be inconvenient for smaller projects and applications. Because of this, HTS/Amptek® offers AC8 Heat Trace Tape in smaller, more manageable lengths that are more convenient to use. Plus, this tape doesn’t require any additional “kits” for lead and end termination, making the installation process simpler and more convenient.

The Conductive Core Matrix changes resistance to allow the heater to generate more heat when cold, and less heat when hot. The rating of 8 watts/foot is the output of the cable at 50°F.

This feature, is ideal for freeze protection while the ambient is cold, and yet not overheat the object when the ambient climbs higher temperatures.

Minimum install temperature: -30°F (-34°C)
Maximum use temperature: 150°F (65°C)
