Silicone Extruded Duo-Tapes®
Silicone Extruded Duo-Tapes®
Tab1 Image DuoTape® Element
The heating element is multi-strand resistance wire, braided with AMOX™ yarn and knitted into the serpentine shape to minimize thermal shock and tensile stress from expansion and contraction. The side-by-side wire configuration permits the lead wires to be on one end. The Duo-Tape® configuration is the most popular of all our flexible elements.
Tab2 Image Extruded in Silicone Rubber
The silicone encapsulates the element in a soft, (50 durometer) extrusion. Flexible and durable, the ASR tape will wrap around small ¼ in. (6mm) tubing. The Silicone Duo-Tapes® may be used on conductive surfaces (use directly on metal), and the silicone extrusion provides resistance to moisture, chemicals, and abrasion. Heat additives provide capability to 450°F (232°C).
Tab3 Image Molded Plug Option (120V)
Standard ASR tapes do not include a power plug. 120V tapes may be ordered with the optional molded plug (-MP). No power plug option is available for 240V tapes. Commercially available connectors may be installed for the customer or sourced locally. Duo-Tapes® do not utilize a grounding circuit and provide a two wire connection. For Earth Ground Leakage protection a circuit protector (30ma GFCI) is recommended.

HTS/Amptek® ASR Silicone Rubber Extruded Duo-Tapes® may be operated to temperatures of 450°F (232°C) with short term exposure to 500°F (260°C). They are available in ½ inch and 1 inch widths and lengths from 2 feet to 40 feet. The element is a knitted Duo-Tape® for flexibility and durability, which allows both power leads to be on one end. This construction can operate with occasional moisture present, but may not be submerged. Duo-Tape® heaters are extremely rugged. The Silicone outer cover allows them to be used on practically all surfaces, and for applications where moisture, chemical, and abrasion resistance is required. Do not overlap this element.
